While a drone superhighway might sound better suited to a science-fiction blockbuster than the Midlands, it's set to become a reality this summer. The world's first drone superhighway will open in the UK between June and early July, allowing pilotless drones to make high-speed deliveries across the country. Developed by drone software provider Altitude Angel, the 165-mile-long Skyway network will connect Coventry in the Midlands to Milton Keynes in the Southeast. However, sceptics have warned that the drone highway 'inevitably poses risk' for the privacy and safety of Britons living in its flight path. Speaking to MailOnline, Chris Cole, director of campaign group Drone Wars, said: 'While the drone industry are incredibly happy about this, for people who end up living under the drones it may well end up being super annoying and super intrusive.'
Revealed: The formula for the perfect leg of lamb this Easter - and why scientists say you need to give it a full HOUR to rest
NEW Easter is synonymous with lighter evenings, chocolate and, of course, the ultimate Sunday lunch. But if you really want to impress your family and friends on Sunday you might need to rethink how you cook your leg of lamb, experts say. Researchers have warned the nation is likely to serve dry and chewy meat because supermarkets are not giving the best preparation guidelines. And to achieve perfection, it should be taken out of the oven early and given a full hour to rest - quadruple the typical recommended timeframe. Thermapen, who carried out the study, said: 'If resting a whole leg of lamb tented in foil, we'd recommend waiting around an hour before carving.'
Is this the real-life Dune sandworm? Blood-sucking 'vampire' creature with mouth full of swirling teeth is found on a beach in Devon
It looks like the monstrous sandworms depicted in Dune, but this blood-sucking 'vampire fish' and its mouth full of swirling teeth are all too real. Will Miles, 26, encountered the bizarre creature on the beach near Exmouth Marina in Devon while taking a post-work stroll last week. He said: 'It was very noticeable, lying in the centre part of the beach near the tideline - I was on a walk after work. 'It was like a hugely oversized leech with a sucker full of sharp, inward-pointing teeth.'
They just don't make them like they used to! Song lyrics have become simpler and more repetitive over the last 40 years, study finds
They really don't make music like they used to, say scientists - as song lyrics have become simpler and more repetitive over the last 40 years. Researchers analysed 12,000 rap, country, pop, R&B and rock songs released since 1980 and found musicians have largely abandoned the lyrical poetry of Bob Dylan, Freddie Mercury, the Beatles and other all-time greats. Instead, today's stars aim for clear, catchy tunes that will grab people's attention on streaming services like Spotify.
Revealed: The popular dog breeds vets say you should AVOID buying because they have been cruelly overbred to look 'cute' - is yours one of them?
Depending on the breed, your dog could be enduring a 'lifetime of suffering' because it's been born into a body of extreme disfigurements. Over hundreds of years, canines have been bred to accentuate 'cute' features that fuel sales. That's why Germany is proposing to ban the dachshund , which has a long, sausage-like torso that gives it painful back problems. From pugs to dachshunds and Cavalier King Charles spaniels, several dog breeds suffer from 'extreme conformation', where exaggerated body shape negatively affect their health and welfare. Rowers competing in the Oxbridge Boat Race are told to cover any cuts and 'take care not to swallow river water' after tests reveal high levels of E.coli in the Thames from sewage
This weekend, the top rowers from Cambridge and Oxford Universities will take to the Thames River to compete in the historic Oxbridge Boat Race. Ahead of the race, scientists are urging those competing to cover any cuts and 'take care not to swallow river water' - after tests revealed high levels of E.coli along the stretch of the river that will be used. The bacteria, which can cause serious infections, was discovered during regular testing by River Action and the Fulham Reach Boat Club between February 28 and March 26, using a World Health Organisation-verified E.coli analyser. The 16 tests around Hammersmith Bridge in west London indicated an average of 2,869 E.coli colony forming units (CFU) per 100ml of water. To meet the Environment Agency's inland bathing water quality standards, the level should be below 1,000 CFU per 100ml.

Meet the man who 'made the world go round': Scientists reconstruct the face of Copernicus - the astronomer who proposed that the planets orbit the Sun - for the first time in over 400 years
His theories may have revolutionised the way we think about the world, but the face of Copernicus has since been lost to time. Nicolaus Copernicus, a Polish astronomer born in 1473, revolutionised the study of the planets by suggesting that the Earth revolved around the Sun. Not a single painting of the famous scientist was made in his lifetime with his only self-portrait having been destroyed by fire in 1597. But now scientists have reconstructed the face of Copernicus, more than 400 years since it was last seen.

From London 's cockney twang to Birmingham 's Brummie accent, Britain is home to almost 40 regional dialects - each with its own unique words. Now, a study has revealed the quirky regional terms at risk of dying out. The South West's 'ansum' and Yorkshire's 'thoile' are just two of the terms that have declined in usage by up to 98 per cent over the last 100 years, according to researchers from SAS Northern Europe.
From Vito Corleone to Sophia Loren: Study confirms that Italians really DO talk with their hands - using one gesture every five words on average
From the classic fingers pinched against thumbs to indicate frustration, bewilderment or delight to airy waves and shrugs, the Italian obsession with gesture is legendary. Now, a study has confirmed that Italians really do talk with their hands. Passionate people from Italy use more than 40 hand gestures a minute while speaking, the study revealed. That's twice what an average Swede does, according to researchers from Lund University. And while other cultures use gestures to help illustrate parts of a story, Italians use them as a kind of running commentary on what they're saying.

How floating wind farms could be the secret to Britain's clean energy future: The six innovative ways we could float skyscraper-sized turbines in the middle of the sea, revealed
The secret to unlocking Britain's clean energy future might be found in giant floating wind farms. These enormous floating structures can reach up to 240 metres (787ft) in height - around the same size as a skyscraper. And experts predict they could make up 10 per cent of the UK's wind farms by 2030. However, building an enormous tower designed to sit in high winds poses some significant engineering issues. From 'spars' that bob like fishing lures to cutting-edge hybrid platforms (illustrated top right), engineers have created hundreds of different designs for these clean-energy giants.
